Deprecate AQUA Voting – Transition to ICE-Only Voting System
Aquarius proposes deprecating AQUA voting in favor of ICE-only governance. AQUA currently represents less than 1% of voting weight; the change simplifies contract logic and clarifies ICE as the core commitment mechanism.
Aquarius proposes fully deprecating AQUA-based voting in favor of ICE-only governance across market voting and protocol proposals. Currently, AQUA voting accounts for less than 1% of total weight, with most votes cast long ago and not refreshed. The transition follows ICE's introduction, which rewards long-term participation with significantly higher voting power. Today ICE dominates across 42.79B upvotes and 851M downvotes, while AQUA contributes only ~303M votes. Removing AQUA voting simplifies contract logic, clarifies user experience, and establishes ICE as the core commitment mechanism. Users can reclaim AQUA from past votes via the Aquarius UI for 3 months, then through any Stellar wallet afterward.
