The Java Stellar SDK, a core developer tool for JVM and Android, completed three releases in Q1 2026 (versions 2.2.1-2.2.3) including a dedicated security hardening release that fixed XDR decoding vulnerabilities and Federation client DoS vectors. The SDK migrated its XDR code generator into the repository, adding SEP-51 support for XDR-JSON serialization validated against the Rust Stellar CLI.
For Q2 2026, the SDK aims to achieve Protocol 26 compatibility and implement SEP-46 (Contract Meta), SEP-47 (Contract Interface Discovery), and SEP-48 (Contract Interface Specification) to improve smart contract tooling. The team also plans an AI coding agent skill compatible with Claude Code, Cursor, and Gemini CLI. The SDK is used by projects including Lobstr Vault and Stellar Anchor Platform.
