Trustless Work, an escrow-as-a-service platform on Stellar, and Boundless, a hackathon and bounty platform, are collaborating to run a four-day hybrid hackathon starting May 13th with a $1,500 prize pool. Boundless uses Trustless Work's escrow contracts to ensure prize funds are secured before the event begins, solving trust issues in hackathon payments.
Trustless Work and Boundless are hosting a collaborative hackathon from May 13-16, combining virtual workshops and office hours with an in-person demo day in Nigeria. Trustless Work provides escrow infrastructure that allows Boundless to hold prize funds securely in smart contracts, ensuring participants that money is available before submissions begin. Alberto Chavez, founder of Trustless Work, explained how escrows work as digital envelopes holding funds until conditions are met through configurable roles like service providers, approvers, and dispute resolvers. Boundless co-founder Benjamin outlined the hybrid format: three days fully virtual with workshops and office hours, plus an optional in-person celebration on May 16th. Participants can build solo or in teams, with no disadvantage for remote builders. Trustless Work offers APIs, SDKs, pre-built UI components called Escrow Blocks, and AI-powered documentation via MCP to help developers integrate escrows without deep blockchain knowledge. The collaboration emerged organically as Collins, Boundless co-founder, contributed to Trustless Work's open-source initiatives before launching Boundless.
