Stellar's tokenized asset base approaches $5 billion, more than quadrupling since January. At Meridian, SDF's CBO discusses what's driving institutional adoption: capital attraction, product-market fit across platforms like Spiko, and expansion into new asset classes beyond cash equivalents.
Stellar's tokenized assets have surged to nearly $5 billion, up from less than $1 billion at the start of 2026. At Meridian 2026 in Lisbon, Stellar Development Foundation CBO Raja Chakravorty attributed the growth to a capital attraction cycle: early institutional adopters like Franklin Templeton established proof of concept, which accelerated adoption by platforms including WisdomTree and U.S. Bank. Spiko, a tokenized money market fund platform, has amassed nearly $2 billion of assets on Stellar. The narrative is shifting from pilot phase to sustained iteration: issuers who launched their first tokenized products are now launching second, third, and fourth offerings. Chakravorty outlined expansion into private credit, alternative asset classes, and structured products, moving beyond cash equivalents and treasuries. For mainstream adoption, the focus remains on utility: demonstrating real value to investors and distribution benefits.
