NierX and Stellar are bringing Hack Meridian to Rio de Janeiro for the first time in Latin America. The event runs September 15-16 (hackathon) followed by the Meridian Conference September 17-18 at Copacabana Palace. 500 developers from 30+ countries will compete for 50,000 USD in prizes across three tracks: DeFi, Composability (building on existing Stellar projects), and Open Innovation. Approved participants receive free educational content and mentorship from Lucas Oliveira covering Rust, Soroban SDK, and advanced smart contracts. The hackathon emphasizes networking with international companies, investors, and startups within the Stellar ecosystem. NierX offers career consulting and Scale mentorship as bonuses for attendees. Applications close end of August with selections announced by Friday each week.
