OpenZeppelin released confidential tokens as a developer preview on Stellar testnet. The feature enables private transfer amounts and balances while keeping counterparty addresses visible. Designed for private payroll, grants, treasury management, and B2B settlement. Mainnet launch expected late summer after security audit.
OpenZeppelin and the Stellar Development Foundation unveiled confidential tokens, a privacy feature for Stellar smart contracts that hides transfer amounts and balances while maintaining transparent counterparty addresses. Launched as a developer preview on testnet, the contracts enable private payroll, foundation grants, treasury movements, and B2B settlement while preserving compliance through configurable auditor access and account-level freezing. The architecture wraps existing SEP-41 tokens, letting users deposit into the confidential layer, transact privately, and withdraw to transparent balances. Still undergoing security audit; mainnet launch targeted for late summer 2026.
