Stellar Private Payments, a zero-knowledge privacy pool protocol built by Nethermind, is now available as a developer preview on testnet. The system uses zero-knowledge proofs to break the relationship between deposit and withdrawal addresses while maintaining compliance-ready design. The protocol supports private transfers within the pool using Groth16 proofs and Poseidon hash functions, integrated into Stellar via Protocol 25 and 26 upgrades. Developers can access web and Rust SDKs, a CLI tool, and a demo application. This complements confidential tokens by adding privacy to counterparty relationships, useful for enterprise payments, cross-border donations, and B2B transactions where the sender-recipient link is sensitive.
