At Meridian conference, Stellar Development Foundation and Cheesecake Labs presented Meridian Pay, a production smart wallet deployed on Stellar mainnet. The wallet enables passwordless login via passkeys (Face ID/Touch ID), supports multiple assets including XLM and RWAs, and processes payments via QR code in seconds. Key technical innovations include deterministic contract addresses derived from email for pre-funding wallets, Merkle tree distribution for efficient token claims, multi-call contracts for batching operations, and SET-50 NFT implementation for proof of attendance. The wallet backend, an open source tool in beta, handles fee sponsorship at scale using channel accounts and provides GraphQL-based transaction history indexing. All 1000+ conference attendees received real XLM and NFTs, experiencing actual on-chain transactions without managing seed phrases or paying visible fees.
