Near Protocol's technical program manager Dejan Radic discussed Near Intents, a protocol designed to solve inefficiencies in cross-chain swaps by using an intent-driven model where users submit requests to market makers who provide quotes. The system operates as a Dutch auction, settling transactions atomically on the intents.near smart contract with capital efficiency and minimal MEV. Near Intents supports 24 chains and 115 assets through a simple API and web interface. The protocol has achieved approximately 1.1 billion in total volume since November launch, with recent daily volumes around 20 million. Stellar was integrated roughly a month prior to this presentation (August 19th), and has generated approximately 200k in cumulative volume with growing daily activity. The system offers no fees for API key users, only a 0.0071% protocol fee, and supports SCP-53 signatures for Stellar wallet integration.
