Stellar Analytics on a Shoestring Budget | Meridian 2025

Sid from SDF presents three budget-friendly analytics approaches for Stellar Network data: Dune (paid tier starting $45/month), exporting Hubble data to DuckDB (~$4), and building local data pipelines with Stellar ETL. Protocol 23 launched on mainnet, enabling new token transfer data abstractions.

Lumen Loop's take

At Meridian, Sid from the Stellar Development Foundation discussed analytics options for Stellar builders beyond expensive platforms like BigQuery. He demonstrated three routes: using Dune's affordable query marketplace, exporting Hubble BigQuery data to DuckDB for local analysis, and building custom data pipelines with Stellar ETL and the new public data lake. All three methods answered the same question about Tezoro circulating supply (1.35M reais). Protocol 23 introduced token transfer abstractions and a free public data lake with TX meta history. The local pipeline approach requires expertise and time (46 hours for 9 months of history) but offers full control and zero ongoing costs. SDF released Parquet file support for Stellar ETL and is developing additional data abstractions like balances.
