The Women in DeFi Bootcamp held its first session with over 95 participants from Latin America. Speakers introduced Web3 evolution from Web1 to Web3, explained blockchain technology and Bitcoin's significance, covered cryptocurrency basics including stablecoins (USDT, USDC, DAI), and detailed DeFi components: DEX platforms like SoroSwap, lending/borrowing, staking, yield farming, liquidity pools, and tokenization of real-world assets. Participants created Freighter wallets, learned about the Stellar ecosystem and its applications, and completed gamified trivia challenges. The bootcamp uses a points-based system with weekly challenges, NFT rewards, and mentorship to teach practical DeFi skills over four weeks.
