Stellar Developers Meeting 08/20 covers wallet infrastructure integration for dApp developers. Host Kahn (SDF Developer Advocate) walks through six different approaches: Stellar Wallet Kit, Blux (email/social), Privy, Para, Passkey Kit, and Smart Account Kit. Learn configuration gotchas, when each auth pattern fits your app's UX, and upcoming Protocol 28 testnet upgrade.
Kaan, Senior Developer Advocate at the Stellar Development Foundation, conducted a technical deep dive on wallet infrastructure integration during this week's Stellar Developers Meeting. Rather than defaulting to extension wallets, he demonstrated six distinct approaches developers can choose based on UX needs and user expectations. The session covered Stellar Wallet Kit (the default multi-extension option), Blux (SCF-funded connect kit with email, phone, and OAuth), Privy, Para, Passkey Kit (passwordless signing), and Smart Account Kit (C-address based accounts). Kahn highlighted common gotchas: checking network configuration to avoid accidentally routing testnet transactions to mainnet, and choosing the right auth flow for your users. He also announced Protocol 28 testnet upgrade coming next week and warned against pinning production config to Protocol 27. The meeting included live code examples showing wallet anatomy, account funding via FriendBot, and cross-wallet transaction signing patterns.
