The Stellar Development Foundation officially kicked off Stellar Hacks Agents Hackathon, a two-week virtual hackathon focused on building AI agents that interact with Stellar blockchain. The hackathon features a $10,000 XLM prize pool ($5,000 first place, $2,000 second, $1,250 third, $1,750 fourth) with submissions opening today and closing April 13. Participants can build anything involving agents and Stellar including payment APIs, wallets, marketplaces, governance experiments, and autonomous flows. Key technologies highlighted are X402 (HTTP payment protocol) and MPP (Machine Payment Protocol by Stripe), both enabling payment-gated APIs with minimal code. Speakers emphasized that developers can get working prototypes in minutes using AI-assisted development, with resources available on developers.stellar.org.
