The Stellar Development Foundation awarded Abroad the Stellar Community Fund (SCF) Build Award #35 on July 17, 2025, recognizing its suite of tools for cross-border payments using stablecoins on the Stellar network. Key features include USDC-to-Pix conversions that deposit Brazilian reais directly into Pix accounts without intermediaries. Abroad, based in Bogotá, Colombia, has expanded from Colombia to support remittances in COP and BRL with integrations like Transfiya and Pix. CEO Esteban Quintero emphasized the SCF's understanding of global payment challenges. The funding will scale these open-source solutions for broader Latin American adoption.
