Airtm, a global payments platform trusted by 2.5 million users, has successfully scaled stablecoin-based payouts for enterprises paying remote and freelance workers in developing regions. By integrating Bridge's Stablecoin Orchestration API on the Stellar network, Airtm offers two flexible payout models: direct 1st-party payouts where enterprises fund Airtm accounts to send USDC directly to workers, and 3rd-party payouts where enterprises send local currency to virtual accounts that Bridge converts to USDC. Since launching in March 2024, nearly 50% of Airtm's enterprise payout volume has flowed through this integration, with 150+ enterprise customers, 250K+ workers served, and 1.3M payouts processed. The solution addresses critical challenges in cross-border payments including high transaction costs, delayed settlements, infrastructure gaps, and currency devaluation. Workers can access 500+ local payment methods including bank transfers, cash pickups, and mobile wallets to convert their USDC earnings.
