Stellar leads all blockchains with 322,000 off-ramps and 475,000+ total cash-to-crypto ramps globally, with particular strength in underserved regions like Africa, Asia, and South America where traditional finance infrastructure is limited.

The Stellar Development Foundation commissioned research from The Block analyzing cash-to-crypto on and off-ramp accessibility worldwide. The study found that Stellar dramatically outpaces Bitcoin and other blockchains in off-ramp infrastructure with 322,000 locations versus Bitcoin's 98,208, and leads overall with 475,000+ combined ramps. Critically, Stellar fills a major gap in underserved regions including Africa, Asia, and South America where off-ramp access is severely limited compared to North America and Europe. The extensive Stellar anchor network and MoneyGram Ramps service enable users without bank accounts to convert crypto to local currency. The report highlights that while on-ramps outnumber off-ramps industry-wide, this imbalance limits crypto utility for everyday use in cash-based economies.
