Bitso Adds Stellar USDC Support

Bitso adds Stellar as a network option for USDC transfers. The exchange highlights Stellar's 3-5 second settlement times, negligible fees (~$0.0001), and native USDC issuance via Circle. CCTP now connects USDC across 24 blockchains.

Lumen Loop's take

Bitso, a major Latin American exchange, now offers USDC transfers on Stellar alongside Ethereum, Solana, Base, Polygon, Arbitrum, and Avalanche. Stellar settles in 3-5 seconds with negligible fees (around $0.0001 USD), consistent across all transfer sizes. USDC is natively issued by Circle, and Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) now connects USDC across 24 blockchains. The addition reflects Stellar's focus on payments infrastructure, designed from inception for borderless money movement rather than general-purpose computing. Bitso also introduced a yield offering on USDC balances, with rates up to 3.1% annually via Treasury bonds.
