Nethermind deployed a RISC Zero Groth16 verifier to Soroban, and Stellar's X-Ray protocol upgrade adds native BN254 and Poseidon cryptographic primitives. This enables privacy-preserving applications on Stellar while maintaining compliance visibility for institutions.

Nethermind has implemented the RISC Zero Groth16 verifier for Stellar smart contracts, allowing Soroban to verify zero-knowledge proofs directly onchain. Stellar's Protocol 25 (X-Ray) upgrade adds native support for BN254 and Poseidon cryptographic primitives, reducing overhead for ZK implementations. Together, these enable configurable privacy on Stellar: applications can prove conditions without revealing underlying data, supporting use cases like private payment flows, compliance-aware access controls, and trust-minimized interoperability. The verifier is live on Mainnet, with Boundless and Stellar teams focusing on marketplace integrations and institutional payment flows.
