Centaurus is a decentralized second-layer solution for Stellar that handles 10,000+ transactions per second with instant confirmation and zero fees. Clusters operate as constellations of independent validator nodes using multisig vaults, enabling high-throughput settlement for remittance networks, CBDCs, and consumer applications without sacrificing Stellar's security model.

Centaurus uses an asynchronous consensus model to scale Stellar beyond mainnet limits. A constellation consists of one alpha server and 5-19 auditor servers, each operated by independent organizations. Users send operations to alpha, which processes them in real-time and broadcasts to auditors for verification. Funds are locked in a Stellar multisig vault, ensuring security via on-chain confirmation. The system achieves 10k+ TPS with 1-3 second finality, zero transaction fees, and supports instant token transfers, atomic trades, and order books. Proposed use cases include settlement infrastructure for banks and fintech, enterprise payment networks, privacy-focused services, and decentralized exchanges. Future roadmap includes sharding for infinite scaling, dark pools, margin trading, and cross-cluster communication via payment channels.
