Coinsquare acquired StellarX, a Stellar-native decentralized exchange, and will rebrand its previously acquired BlockEQ wallet as StellarX's anchor wallet. StellarX will operate as a Bermuda-based subsidiary while continuing development under its own brand.

Canada-based exchange Coinsquare has acquired StellarX, a decentralized exchange built on the Stellar protocol that enables peer-to-peer trading in cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies without fees. The acquisition follows Coinsquare's December purchase of Stellar wallet BlockEQ, which will be rebranded as the anchor wallet for StellarX. BlockEQ cofounder Megha Bambra will lead StellarX as it continues its product roadmap. StellarX will operate as a wholly owned Bermuda-based subsidiary under its own brand, with Coinsquare seeking licensing under Bermuda's crypto-friendly regulatory framework.
