SDF leadership traveled to West and East Africa to engage directly with Stellar ecosystem participants and local innovators. In Nigeria, they met with Cowrie (cross-border payments), Yellowcard (USDC integration), and Fonbnk (airtime-to-digital conversion). In Kenya, HoneyCoin—a Stellar Community Fund graduate now serving 70,000+ users—hosted a meetup and showcased MoneyGram Ramps integration. In Ghana, the Blockchain Builders Association convened discussions, and SDF spoke with Zeepay about borderless financial solutions. Beyond blockchain projects, the team also engaged with non-blockchain fintech innovators like Farmerline and Aku Fintech to understand local payment challenges and user-centered design approaches. The trip reinforced SDF's commitment to supporting local builders solving local problems across payments, financial inclusion, and the creative economy.
