What Happened at Hack-a-Soroban

The Stellar Development Foundation and Cheesecake Labs showcased 14 Soroban smart contract projects from a week-long internal hackathon, including a naming service, DAO governance tool, recurring payments contract, and NFT implementation. The projects demonstrate Soroban's flexibility and are open for community collaboration ahead of mainnet launch.

Lumen Loop's take

During a January hackathon, 56 developers from the Stellar Development Foundation and Cheesecake Labs across 7 time zones built 14 projects exploring Soroban smart contract capabilities. Notable projects include Sorobon Name Service (domain naming like ENS), SorobountyDAO (governance for bounty programs), Recurring Revenue (automated payments), Solidity-to-Soroban compiler support, zero-knowledge proofs for privacy, NFT minting, cross-chain bridges to Ethereum, and e-commerce payment solutions. The SDF released these projects publicly to inspire community developers and encourage collaboration. Sorobanathon: Equinox is currently live through April 1st, offering 25 to 10,000 XLM for code samples and tutorials.
