Stellar Development Foundation announces a partnership with Keybase through its grant program to link cryptography with real-world identity, enabling users to send XLM using social media handles instead of long key strings.

The Stellar Development Foundation has partnered with Keybase, a cryptographically secure platform, to create tools that link strong cryptography to real-world identity. The partnership aims to enable users to send XLM and other assets using human-readable usernames like Twitter or Reddit handles instead of complex key strings, creating a decentralized, global payment experience similar to Venmo but supporting any asset. SDF is providing funding as a mix of USD and XLM. The agreement includes practical Stellar-centric deliverables to be announced as they near completion. Keybase, backed by Andreessen Horowitz and founded by former SparkNotes and OkCupid founders, has 200,000 users and a public Stellar team for community discussion.
