Mastercard's stablecoin platform BVNK integrated Stellar, enabling enterprise customers to use the network for international transfers and treasury management. The integration adds Stellar to BVNK's multi-chain offering alongside Ethereum and Solana, expanding Stellar's institutional payment infrastructure and bringing it closer to traditional finance.

Mastercard-owned BVNK integrated Stellar into its stablecoin payments platform in September 2026. BVNK customers—major financial services companies including Worldpay, Deel, Rapyd, and Flywire—can now use Stellar alongside Ethereum and Solana for international transfers, payments, and treasury management. This is significant because it gives Stellar indirect exposure to Mastercard's broader payments ecosystem and traditional finance operations. The week also saw Pods Finance connecting Stellar with Brazil's Pix instant payments system for direct fiat conversion, OpenZeppelin publishing guidance on confidential stablecoins for Stellar, and the Stellar Adapter mainnet upgrade (deployed Sept 16) improving transaction consensus and data consistency. Meanwhile, the Stellar Community Fund awarded $4.1 million in XLM tokens to 40 projects spanning tokenized real estate, stablecoin banking, cross-border payments, and AI agent payment tools.
