Payments platform Wirex announced support for USD Coin (USDC) on the Stellar blockchain, allowing its 5 million users to buy, hold, exchange, and spend USDC through the Wirex app using crypto-enabled debit cards. The announcement was made at Stellar's Meridian conference and represents continued collaboration between Wirex and the Stellar Development Foundation since 2019. Users can earn up to 8% in WXT rewards for purchases and redeem USDC 1:1 for U.S. dollars. The integration provides access to Stellar-based USDC and lumens in 39 countries including the U.S., U.K., and Europe, offering faster transactions, lower fees, and easier DeFi access.
