The Stellar Development Foundation ran a dogfooding experiment called the Okashi Cakewalk, a web-based smart contract game built on Soroban that enabled all SDF employees—regardless of technical background—to write, deploy, and invoke smart contracts. Over 170 NFTs were minted on Futurenet, demonstrating successful onboarding to Soroban development and providing valuable UX feedback to the Okashi team.

The Stellar Development Foundation conducted a dogfooding initiative to test Soroban smart contract development accessibility across its entire workforce. Using Okashi, an ecosystem-developed web-based platform for Soroban, SDF created the Okashi Cakewalk—a gamified challenge where employees minted ASCII art NFTs to Futurenet. The experiment achieved 100% participation with over 170 NFTs minted, successfully establishing a smart contract mental model for beginners while providing hands-on experience for experienced engineers. Participants gained familiarity with Okashi's developer experience, supplied critical UI/UX feedback, and organically became peer advocates for troubleshooting. The Cakewalk is now open to the community on Futurenet, with a Mainnet version in development.
