Soroban, Stellar's native smart contracts platform, is now live on Futurenet with a $100M adoption fund to support developers. The platform uses WASM and Rust to bring Turing-complete smart contracts to Stellar, with mainnet launch expected in H1 2023.

The Stellar Development Foundation announced that Soroban, the native smart contracts platform for Stellar, is live on Futurenet, an incentivized testing environment for early developers. SDF also unveiled a $100M Soroban Adoption Fund to support builders creating products and tools for the ecosystem. The first incentive program, Sorobanathon: First Light, rewards developers for testing Soroban and sharing feedback through code examples, tutorials, and GitHub issues. Soroban introduces Turing-complete smart contracts built on WASM with Rust, designed for developer experience, scale, and reliable access to financial services. Mainnet launch is expected in the first half of 2023, with periodic Futurenet upgrades planned through Q1 2023.
