The Stellar Development Foundation announced a $100M Soroban Adoption Fund to support developers building on Soroban, its native smart contracts platform now live on Futurenet. The fund includes Sorobanathon: First Light, an incentive program rewarding developers for testing and providing feedback.

At Meridian 2022, the Stellar Development Foundation announced that Soroban, a Turing-complete smart contracts platform built on WASM and Rust, is now live on Futurenet, an incentivized testing environment. SDF simultaneously launched a $100M Soroban Adoption Fund to support developers building products and tools for the ecosystem. The first program, Sorobanathon: First Light, rewards developers for testing Soroban and sharing feedback through code examples, tutorials, and GitHub issues. Soroban is designed to address friction on other networks by offering a batteries-included developer experience, scalability, and reliable access to Stellar's financial infrastructure. Mainnet launch is expected in the first half of 2023.
