Circle and Coinbase's USDC stablecoin is being added to Stellar, marking the third official blockchain for the dollar-backed stablecoin after Ethereum and Algorand. Announced during the Stellar Development Foundation's quarterly review, the integration seeks to bolster Stellar's position as a cross-border payments network and create equitable access to financial services. With 2.8 billion USDC in circulation and Stellar hosting 4.6 million accounts, the addition opens new opportunities for developers and businesses. USDC is expected to be available on Stellar by January 2021. The move reflects CENTRE's multichain strategy for expanding USDC adoption across blockchain networks.
