SDF announced a $15 million Enterprise Fund investment in Airtm, a Mexico City-based blockchain wallet and P2P exchange platform serving Latin America. The investment, SDF's largest to date, will support Airtm's integration with Stellar to provide efficient, low-cost cross-border payments and financial services to underbanked populations.

The Stellar Development Foundation announced a $15 million USD Enterprise Fund investment in Airtm, a blockchain-based digital wallet and peer-to-peer exchange platform operating in Latin America and emerging markets. This marks SDF's largest Enterprise Fund investment and fifth strategic investment in fiscal 2021. The capital will enable Airtm to integrate with Stellar, bringing globally-connected dollar accounts and efficient cross-border transactions to consumers and businesses throughout the developing world. Airtm operates a bank-connected platform allowing users in countries with devaluing currencies to exchange local money for cryptocurrencies and AirUSD at market rates. The investment addresses Latin America's cash-based economy, where 91% of Mexican transactions were cash in 2020, while supporting digital transformation and expanding equitable access to global financial infrastructure.
