The Stellar Development Foundation announced that Stellar Aid Assist has been nominated for Best Use of Web3 Technology at the 28th Annual Webby Awards. The solution enables organizations like UNHCR to disburse aid at scale with instant, transparent, low-cost transfers to thousands of recipients without requiring bank accounts. Since its December 2022 pilot launch, UNHCR has delivered over $2 million in aid to individuals displaced by the war in Ukraine using the platform. Stellar Aid Assist leverages Circle's USDC stablecoin, MoneyGram's money transfer capabilities, and Vibrant's digital wallet. The nomination qualifies the solution for the Webby People's Voice Award, with public voting open through April 18th.
