Glo Dollar, backed by a $250,000 SDF donation, launches on Stellar to enable embedded philanthropy. Users can send Glo Dollars for remittances and social payouts while automatically supporting charities through reserve earnings, with potential to generate $3 million yearly for causes.

Glo Dollar has received a $250,000 donation from the Stellar Development Foundation to expand its stablecoin offering on the Stellar network. The project enables embedded philanthropy by donating 100% of profits from reserve earnings to charitable causes, allowing users to support charities without explicit donations. If Glo Dollar captures 10% of Stellar's real-world asset supply (currently over $533 million), it could generate up to $3 million annually for charitable organizations. The platform is integrating with key Stellar applications including Arf, Beans, and Vibrant, while also bringing its existing ecosystem of 50 partners to the network. Use cases include cross-border remittances and social payouts where recipients benefit from payments while reserves automatically fund public goods.
