Stellar Private Payments combines privacy with compliance through a shielded pool that enforces both confidentiality and regulatory controls. Nethermind's implementation separates write controls (who may move value via identity-level Association Sets) from read controls (who may see value via selective disclosure and planned global viewing keys). Unlike prior privacy solutions that obfuscate all transfers, SPP embeds compliance into the protocol itself: KYC-gated access, user-initiated disclosure for audits, and account-level freeze capability for non-compliance. The protocol is live on testnet, fully open source, and featured on Privacy and Scaling Explorations' Private Transfers Dashboard—a reference implementation for private payments on public ledgers.
