Taurus brings smart contract support to its institutional custody and tokenization platforms on Stellar. Through PROTECT and CAPITAL, banks and financial institutions can now custody and manage smart contract-based assets on Stellar, expanding the company's multichain infrastructure to support Stellar's Soroban environment.
Taurus, a Europe-based digital asset infrastructure provider, announced live smart contract support across its PROTECT custody platform and CAPITAL tokenization platform on Stellar. The capability extends Taurus's previous 2024 Stellar integration, which brought institutional custody and asset issuance to the network. The update enables financial institutions to custody and issue smart contract-based tokens on Stellar through the same Taurus platform they use across other blockchains. Support includes Stellar token standards like SEP-41 contract tokens, Stellar Asset Contracts, OpenZeppelin contracts, and ERC-3643-based regulated assets (also known as SEP-57). Institutions can also deploy issuer-specific contract structures, expanding flexibility for tokenized securities and real-world assets on Stellar. Taurus co-founder Lamine Brahimi emphasized that institutions want to choose blockchain infrastructure without changing their custody and issuance controls. The move positions Taurus as a multichain infrastructure provider giving enterprise clients unified tooling regardless of their target network.
