Tempo Money Transfer integrated with Stellar blockchain to enable remittances from Europe to the Philippines via Coins.ph, allowing customers to send funds using just a recipient's name and phone number with 3-second settlement times.

Tempo Money Transfer completed integration with the Stellar blockchain, enabling European customers to send global remittances through a Stellar e-wallet to the Philippines via partnership with Coins.ph. Recipients are notified via mobile and automatically receive a Coins.ph account, with options for bank transfer, home delivery, or cash pickup. Stellar's CTO Jed McCaleb highlighted how the partnership advances the goal of lowering global remittance costs and improving cross-border payment efficiency. Tempo's CTO Anthony Barker emphasized Stellar's advantages over Bitcoin, including 3-second settlement versus 10 minutes, higher throughput, and standard API compatibility. The integration expands Tempo's service reach to nearly 12,000 locations in the Philippines and over 22,000 across Asia, with 195,000 total locations across 120 countries.
