MoneyGram has reached $30 million in transaction volume through its crypto-to-cash service on Stellar, operating in over 170 countries. The partnership demonstrates real-world blockchain adoption for financial inclusion, enabling users to convert stablecoins to local currency and facilitating humanitarian aid distribution.

Three years after launching its crypto-to-cash service on Stellar, MoneyGram has achieved $30 million in total transaction volume, establishing the world's largest cash on and off-ramp network through digital wallets. The service operates in over 170 countries, with top transaction activity in the US, Canada, Poland, Ukraine, Colombia, Mexico, Uganda, UK, and Ecuador. MoneyGram recently launched MoneyGram Ramps, an enhanced API that allows wallets and fintech apps to embed on/off-ramp functionality with minimal code. The partnership demonstrates tangible impact through use cases like Luis in Mexico receiving salary in USDC via Decaf wallet and cashing out locally, and humanitarian organizations like UNHCR and IRC using the service to distribute aid. The infrastructure emphasizes compliance through Stellar's SEP-24 standard for KYC requirements, ensuring regulated and interoperable financial services for underbanked populations.
