Cheesecake Labs presented their Hyperledger Cacti Stellar connector, enabling asset transfers between private blockchains like Bezu and the public Stellar network. The open-source contribution demonstrates cross-chain interoperability for institutions seeking to connect permissioned and public blockchain ecosystems.
At the Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust event, Marcelo from Cheesecake Labs showcased their contribution to Hyperledger Cacti, a modular interoperability framework. Cheesecake built a Stellar connector that enables seamless asset transfers between private blockchains (Bezu, Fabric) and Stellar. The presentation covered the state of interoperability, why both private and public blockchains must coexist, and demonstrated a live demo of token movement from Stellar to Bezu. Key use cases include connecting Brazil's Drex CBDC project with Stellar's payment infrastructure, tokenizing real-world assets on private networks while enabling payments in stablecoins on public chains, and orchestrating cross-chain transactions. The framework supports multiple ledgers and allows organizations to choose centralized or decentralized deployment models.
