The Stellar Development Foundation held its Q3 2020 quarterly call announcing a major partnership with Circle to bring USDC to Stellar as an official chain. Jeremy Allaire, Circle CEO, discussed how USDC will be available on Stellar with integrated on/off ramps and platform services. SDF highlighted Q3 achievements including protocol upgrades (claimable balances, sponsored reserves), Horizon API restructuring for improved performance, and expansion of anchor networks in Africa (FlutterWave, Cowry, ClickPesa) and Latin America. The foundation also launched Stellar Community Fund 2.0 with refined selection processes and two funding tracks, increased policy engagement with regulators and policymakers, and announced Meridian 2020 conference with speakers including Reid Hoffman and Tim Berners-Lee.
