Protocol enhancement proposals for Stellar's Soroban smart contracts: CAP 71 introduces delegated authentication to simplify multi-signer logic, CAP 72 adds contract signers to classic accounts, and CAP 73 enables trust line creation from Soroban.
Three Stellar Enhancement Proposals (CAPs) were presented to extend Soroban capabilities and classic account functionality. CAP 71 adds protocol-level support for delegating authentication between accounts, reducing transaction complexity and duplication by introducing a new credential type with delegates. CAP 72 enables contract signers on classic accounts, allowing arbitrary authentication logic and policies while maintaining backward compatibility. CAP 73 closes a feature gap by allowing trust line and account creation from Soroban contracts, supporting both classic assets and XLM transfers programmatically. Together these proposals improve interoperability between classic and contract accounts while simplifying developer experience.
