SatoshiPay, a micropayments platform built on Stellar, secured a major partnership with Axel Springer, Europe's largest digital publisher with €3.5 billion in annual revenue. The deal will embed SatoshiPay's payment service into Axel Springer's products, allowing readers to pay small amounts in Stellar Lumens for news content. This addresses the challenge facing online journalism, where paywalls limit reader willingness to subscribe to multiple services. The partnership covers major brands including Business Insider, Bild, Die Welt, and Upday, with launch expected in spring 2019. SatoshiPay has also deployed three Stellar full nodes to support the network and previously partnered with City A.M. and The Register.
