Axelar announced its Mobius Development Stack, a new interoperability platform enabling permissionless cross-chain connections at scale. The Interchain Amplifier lets developers spin up connections to any blockchain—including Stellar—using AXL-incentivized validators, while the Interchain Token Service eliminates bridge fragmentation for cross-chain tokens.

Axelar's Mobius Development Stack (MDS), developed by Interop Labs, reimagines cross-chain development around three pillars: the Interchain Amplifier enables permissionless, self-service connections to any blockchain (launching Stellar, Flow, Hedera, Solana, Stacks, Sui, and XRP Ledger support), using AXL token bonding and Verifier incentives to scale security without protocol-layer code changes. The Interchain Token Service (ITS) replaces bridges with native, fungible cross-chain tokens managed via smart contracts. The Axelar Virtual Machine (AVM) adds programmable logic at the cross-chain layer. Security is augmented via integrations with Babylon and EigenLayer, allowing Verifiers to stake BTC and ETH. Partnerships with OpenZeppelin establish open interoperability standards across ecosystems.
