Coinbase announced that New York state customers can now hold, buy, sell, send, and receive Stellar Lumens (XLM) and Chainlink's LINK token on Coinbase.com and mobile apps. XLM was initially launched on Coinbase in March 2019, while LINK followed in June 2019, but both faced delays in New York due to stringent state regulatory requirements. Stellar is designed as a crypto-based payment system and has partnered with IBM on its World Wire payments network. Chainlink is an Ethereum-based oracle service that connects smart contracts to real-world data, with its CEO highlighting secure smart contracts as key to corporate blockchain adoption.
