Circle's euro-backed stablecoin EURC is now live on Stellar, enabling real-time, low-cost cross-border payments and remittances in euros. Ripio became the first to integrate EURC on Stellar into its wallet app.
Circle and the Stellar Development Foundation announced that EURC, a fiat-backed stablecoin fully redeemable 1:1 for euros, is now available on the Stellar network as the third blockchain to support it. The launch enables businesses and developers to offer 24/7 global payments, remittances, and foreign exchange services with near-instant transactions and low costs, particularly benefiting those without access to traditional banking. Ripio, a Latin American crypto company expanding to Spain, became the first to integrate EURC on Stellar into its wallet app. The integration is expected to enhance European remittance corridors, cross-border payments, treasury management, and aid disbursement through systems like Stellar Aid Assist.
