IBM's global blockchain head Jesse Lund has departed the company. Lund led IBM's Stellar-based World Wire payment network, which connected six banks across 72 countries. Stellar co-founder Jed McCaleb said the departure won't impact the platform.

Jesse Lund, IBM's global head of blockchain for financial services and digital currencies, has left the company. Lund spearheaded IBM's World Wire payment network built on Stellar, successfully onboarding six global banks including Banco Bradesco, Bank Busan, and Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation. As of March, World Wire operated across 72 countries with 47 currencies and 44 banking endpoints. While Lund had planned to expand IBM's cryptocurrency and CBDC offerings, Stellar co-founder Jed McCaleb indicated his departure should not affect the platform's operations.
