Mercado Bitcoin, Latin America's largest digital assets platform, now offers USDC on the Stellar network, enabling customers to transact with fees under one cent. This marks the first time the exchange has offered the same asset across multiple networks.

Mercado Bitcoin has integrated USDC issued on the Stellar network, giving its customers access to ultra-low-cost transactions with fees under one cent. This is the first time the platform has offered the same asset across different blockchain networks, allowing users to choose the network best suited to their needs. Stellar has processed an average of $8.6 million daily in payments and is increasingly used for payments, tokenization, and real asset issuance. Denelle Dixon, CEO of Stellar Development Foundation, highlighted the integration as a step toward equitable global financial access. Stellar plans to launch native smart contracts by end of 2022, which will expand USDC utility on the network.
