At Meridian 2022, the Stellar Development Foundation announced the Anchor Platform, a prepackaged software API designed to simplify how businesses connect to the Stellar network. The platform allows companies like banks and money transfer operators to integrate with Stellar's payment rails in weeks rather than months, with reduced development costs. Anchors can now provide on/off ramps for digital currencies by accepting fiat deposits and issuing equivalent digital tokens on Stellar. The platform supports cross-border payments and connects businesses to a network of over 80 global anchors and interoperable applications, significantly reducing project risk and time-to-market.
