Stellar Development Foundation invested $15 million in Airtm, a Latin American digital wallet and P2P exchange platform, to expand financial access in underserved regions. The partnership will integrate Airtm with Stellar's network and USDC stablecoin to enable broader payment services.

Stellar Development Foundation CEO Denelle Dixon announced a $15 million investment in Airtm, a blockchain-connected digital wallet and peer-to-peer exchange platform serving Latin America. The investment will fund Airtm's integration with Stellar's platform, additional engineering resources, user acquisition, and blockchain infrastructure development. Dixon emphasized Stellar's commitment to empowering local innovators in underserved regions rather than imposing solutions from Silicon Valley. The partnership enables Airtm users to access USDC stablecoin and Stellar's network of services, addressing challenges like currency devaluation and limited financial infrastructure. Dixon highlighted that the true impact may come from unexpected applications local teams develop once given access to these tools and the broader ecosystem.
