The Stellar Development Foundation's Enterprise Fund invested $15 million in Airtm, a Mexico-based digital wallet and crypto exchange. This is SDF's largest investment on record and part of a broader strategy to expand cross-border payments and financial inclusion in Latin America.

The Stellar Development Foundation announced a $15 million investment in Airtm, a Mexico-based digital wallet and cryptocurrency exchange startup, marking SDF's largest investment to date. The funding aims to advance Airtm's mission of providing stable, instant, fee-free money transfers and local currency withdrawals in developing markets. This investment is SDF's third focused on Latin America in 2021, following $3 million investments in Argentina-based Settle Network and US-based Tribal Credit. Additional 2021 investments include $5 million to blockchain payment firm Wyre and $750,000 to Nigeria-based Cowrie. The strategy reflects SDF's commitment to expanding cross-border payments, digitizing cash-based financial systems, and promoting financial inclusion across emerging markets.
