The Stellar Development Foundation, MoneyGram International, and Techstars announced a new accelerator program designed to support early-stage fintech startups focused on blockchain and digital payments innovation in Latin America. The program will select up to 12 startups annually for a 13-week immersive experience with mentorship from all three organizations, culminating in a Demo Day for investors. Applications open July 25, 2022, with a deadline of October 12, 2022. The initiative builds on Stellar and MoneyGram's existing partnership to bridge digital and local currencies, targeting the region's large unbanked and underbanked population. The program officially launches at SXSW in Austin.
