Stellar partnered with Oradian, a fintech providing core-banking software, to launch instant money transfers across 200 microfinance branches in Nigeria, serving 300,000+ clients in rural areas with affordable, real-time payments replacing traditional cash delivery methods.

Stellar.org announced a partnership with Oradian, a fintech company offering core-banking software for microfinance institutions, to enable instant money transfers across Nigeria's underbanked rural communities. The integration connects 200 MFI branches serving over 300,000 clients, predominantly women in rural areas, allowing real-time transfers between distant villages and cities at low cost. Previously, rural Nigerians relied on hand delivery or bus drivers to move cash; this network replaces that with secure, instant digital transfers accessible via local branch visits. Nigeria's population is 80% unbanked, making this particularly significant for financial inclusion. The partnership demonstrates Stellar's open-source protocol enabling cross-currency payments through its digital asset, creating an IP layer that links previously isolated markets and brings financial services to underserved populations.
